SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – With ongoing dry, hot and breezy weather – and the increased risk of wildfires, Spokane County Parks, Recreation and Golf is implementing Seasonal Burn Restrictions. According to Parks Director Doug Chase and Park Ranger Bryant Robinson, burn restrictions are now in effect within all unincorporated Spokane County Parks until further notice.
The burn restrictions prohibit all outdoor burning and the use of charcoal briquet BBQ’s within unincorporated Spokane County Parks. Any person found with a recreational fire or conducting open burning in unincorporated Spokane County Parks owned land who fails to take immediate action to extinguish or otherwise discontinue such burning when ordered or notified to do so, shall be charged with a misdemeanor (IFC 109; SCC 3.02), (SCC 6.14.070.13). For questions regarding Spokane County Parks, Recreation and Golf Park lands, call (509) 477-4730.
In addition, and as authorized by the Spokane County Fire Code Official, the Parks Director may impose additional burn restrictions within Spokane County owned-and-managed park lands in the future if determined necessary to ensure public safety and to protect Spokane County property.
To further ensure public safety and to protect Spokane County property, Parks Director Chase will temporarily close the Liberty Lake ORV Park to motorized activities beginning Monday July 7, 2025, until further notice.
